In-House Diagnostics

May 22, 2018 by ivet360

In-house Diagnostics
Our in-house laboratory and diagnostic facilities are an essential tool in early detection and maintaining your pet’s health.

Digital Radiography

Veterinary diagnostic imaging creates composites of the internal body that are used to discover disease or injury. These tests can detect many problems, including skeletal fractures, soft tissue damage, and foreign bodies. This tool is especially helpful in diagnosing and treating dental disease, as the detail is excellent.

Once those images are taken, we can see them in six seconds instead of waiting 20 minutes for the film to develop.

Ultrasound

This imaging tool allows us to take a real-time look inside an organ or body cavity. It can reveal important information about internal processes, including the circulatory, skeletal, and gastrointestinal systems, helping identify disease, blockages and internal injury.

We offer musculoskeletal ultrasound to evaluate for muscle, tendon, and ligament injury as well. Dr. Kara has gained valuable experience with this technology to better treat and monitor patients with these types of injuries.

Because an ultrasound doesn’t require radiation, it is also used to monitor pregnancies and fetal health in breeding pets.

MedRx Otoscope examinations are available for ear canal problems or to evaluate the lower urinary tract or nasal cavity.

In-House Laboratory Services

Our in-house laboratory offers urinalysis, blood analysis, blood pressure monitoring, ECG, Tonometry (checking for glaucoma),  and more. This allows our team to quickly and accurately diagnose illness and determine the best course of treatment for your pet.
